It's called Colossus: The Forbin Project. The only difference is unlike Skynet, the AI that nearly wiped out humanity in order to protect itself from being shut down, Colossus became self-aware and realized the U.S. and Soviet Russia were capable of destroying not only each other, but the entire human race as well. It would later decide to take steps in order to ensure humanity's survival and prevent a nuclear holocaust by taking over the entire world and suppressing freedom in which Colossus considers a false sense of pride.
